The Wedding Collective | The Dress | Belle & Bunty

Welcome back to day two of our exciting week long collaboration. If you missed our story behind The Wedding Collective and scene setter inspiration yesterday then click here to hear all about it!
I for one am a huge fan of London based designers Hannah and Alice’s wedding label Belle & Bunty, every time I peruse their lovely website I just wish I could get married again! These girls most certainly rock with their super pretty and ultra glamorous vintage inspired bridal collection. Understated elegance is at the core of all they do and each and every one of their stunning gowns is created and made within the UK (we like that!). Not only that but the clever ladies have recently won the ‘Bridal Designers of the Year 2013′ by the Tailored Bridal Awards! There really is no one better to put together our dress mood board for the latest edition of the ‘The Wedding Collective.’
I therefore leave you in the very capable hands of Hannah from Belle & Bunty as she explains her inspiration behind this gorgeous mood board…
Dreamy sunset colours form the palette, with shades of soft coral, cerise pink and dusty orange sitting alongside highlights of turquoise as clear as the ocean. Inspired by a relaxed travelers vibe the Brides look is effortlessly laid back with a nod to Boho.

Two wedding dresses allow the bride to indulge in her love of beautiful fabrics seen in Balinese & Moroccan markets. The daytime dress combines delicate ivory lace with blush silk satin while the evening gown plays on the sunset mood in a shade of coral. A pastel pink feathered cape inspired by exotic African birds adds drama and starts a running “feather” theme with a fun headdress and delicate handcrafted gold earrings adding natural beauty. Shoes that peak out from beneath the hem of the dresses have a fun element of hand crafted gold heels mixed with animal print as seen on African safari’s. On her wrists she wears a layered arm party of bracelets all collected from past explorations and each of which hold memories. Statement rings of turquoise and gold add a splash of vivid colour mimicking intricate Moroccan patterns. Bridesmaids wear carefully selected hues of bold colours from the palette in hot pinks and orangey reds with fun oversize bows.
Glimmering shades of gold like the sunshine give a subtle glimmering natural make up, with gold leaf eyes for added sparkle in the evening to compliment the coral dress. A bright matt coral lip works well with a coordinating bright nail colour for a fresh, new bridal look. Loose waves in the hair give a relaxed, carefree feel with small tribal plaits for a fashionable, boho edge.
What a gorgeous colour palette and I’m so in love with that coral dress! Thanks to the ladies at Belle & Bunty for creating such gorgeous inspiration and don’t forget to check out their beautiful dress collection right here!
Stop by tomorrow for the next installment as event planners Knot & Pop talk decorations…

Introducing The Wedding Collective

I am super excited to share with you today (drum roll please)… ‘The Wedding Collective.’ An inspiring team of collaborators put together especially for you by Whiter than White and wedding planners, Knot & Pop. As you may well know, we love nothing more than a beautifully collated mood board to inspire your celebration and it got us thinking, lets gather a rather special team to showcase the very best of a theme and the most creative of wedding concepts. We took one fun idea and asked a collective of four talented collaborators to each compile a mood board putting their own spin and signature style on things. Including everything from flowers and fashion to decorations and stationery, we’ve got it all covered.
The Wedding Collective | One theme - Four collaborators | Whiter than White Weddings - Knot & Pop - Belle & Bunty - The Flower Drum

The Wedding Collective includes wow wedding dress designers Belle & Bunty, flower goddess The Flower Drum, event designers, Knot & Pop and Whiter Than White Weddings.
We are kicking things off today with a ‘Scene Setter’ mood board, colour palette and story collated by Knot & Pop and yours truly. Every day throughout this week, each of the collective will be sharing their own interpretation of the theme across their own mood board, providing you with lots of interesting and intriguing inspiration to explore. The super stylish girls from Belle & Bunty have the fashion side of things covered tomorrow with their dress board followed by Susie and Claire from Knot & Pop decking out the decorations board on Wednesday. We are then heading on over to Australia for a floral explosion from Holly at The Flower Drum before concluding on Friday with lots of paper prettiness in my Stationery board. Let me tell you, you’re in for a treat as these mood boards are super gorgeous!
So, what’s the theme?
We’re all longing for a bit of sunshine right? Well, on this imaginary couple’s Around the World trip, that’s exactly what we get. The theme is set around the couple themselves; uber cultured and with a love of travel, they have long dreamed of taking a sabbatical from work and what better time than after their wedding, when they can embark on the most ultimate of honeymoon’s – a trip Around the World taking in some of their most lust worthy locations. With this life-long dream that they’re now sharing together, we wanted to theme the wedding based upon this exciting adventure.
Theme: Around the World Wedding
The wanderlust couple have their sights set on lands full of culture, scenic beauty, delicious local foods and endless explorations. Starting in Morocco where their senses will be set alive with the busy markets – the smell of exotic spices igniting the senses, the Moorish architecture and the beautiful traditional mosaic tiles. Vibrant colours reminiscent of an African sunset pervade the colour palette as burnt oranges and rich reds mix with golden hues and sea aquas. From the tip of Africa to the toe, the couple continue to South Africa for a Safari. Their love of animals take them to a park for endangered species, where they stay with the sanctuary in Safari tents under the vast South African sky and stars. After South Africa a flight to Bali to see the undulating rice paddies of Ubud and relax at a yoga retreat. A time to unwind, Bali will be spent immersed in the unique Balinese local culture and the Hindu rituals. The famed wood carvings and gold and silver crafts on the region will also be sampled, with visits to local artisans to see the hand-crafting. The final destination will be America to see the sights of the Navajo Nation to see the unparalleled beauty of the region, it’s historical monuments, tribal parks and intricate crafts. The bright light of Los Angeles then beckon, before flying back to England.
The scene is set and here it is, the first of five dreamy mood boards heading your way this week that have inspired all of our creative collaborators…

1920′s Glamour | Sabina Motasem & Kelly Spence

A few weeks ago I very happily attended an exclusive sneak peek of Sabina Motasem & Kelly Spence’s 2014 Gatsby inspired collections at London’s Waldorf hotel. The new, vintage style ranges featured glamorously understated gowns and exquisite accessories which all complimented each other beautifully. The gowns are made from the finest silks and satins in a palette of the softest cream, ivory and blush tones. The collection was elegant, luxuriously understated, beautifully cut and undeniably sexy. I think you will love this special preview – as you can see the designs are nothing short of stunning!

Pink Peonies + Macaroons

Sabina revealed three new 1920′s inspired dresses to add to the existing 2013 collection which showcases the glamour and sophistication of old and new Hollywood, and combines geometry and simplicity with simple shapes. The pretty gowns feature French cord lace bodices, crystal beaded silk georgette over-dresses and art nouveau beaded belts.

The vintage inspired gowns were perfectly accessorized with Kelly Spence’s exquisite new collection of hand-beaded hair pieces placed on beautiful removable ribbons. I fell in love with the super pretty 1920′s inspired lace cap, Juliet and bandeau style silk veils. They perfectly evoked the glamour of the 20s & 30s and were sensitively paired with Sabina’s elegant gowns.
