A Pretty Spring City Wedding at Royal Hospital Chelsea

Today I have an ultra pretty Springtime Wedding to share with you lovely lot!

It was a chilly and snowy day in London town that Vicki and Pete said ‘I do’ against a breathtaking backdrop of cherry blossom and blush toned spring florals. Just wait until you see the incredible cherry blossom branch aisle! Their pretty reception was held in the picturesque grounds and garden of The Royal Hospital Chelsea (the home of the legendary Chelsea pensioners nonetheless!). It’s a stunner and a huge thank you to Kristian Leven Photography for sharing these beautiful images and for capturing every aspect of the day so perfectly.

The day was set to be freezing (it actually snowed!) so at the last minute I bought some white plimsolls from Topshop and wore the thickest socks I could find with them. It looked ridiculous but no one saw and I stayed warm all day!

VICKI & PETE
DATE: 29th March 2014
GUESTS: 90

THE VENUE: Royal Hospital Chelsea was an easy choice as Pete’s family have lived on the grounds for the past few years, so it felt like home! Also it’s a stunning venue and easily accessible situated in central London.

STYLE/ THEME: We kept everything quite classic to fit in with our venue. The colour of the bridesmaid dresses inspired our flowers and stationery. Other than that we just wanted the day to be a real fun celebration.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Kristian Leven was amazing, he captured the emotion of the whole day so well. But most of all he was so relaxed, unobtrusive and blended in with our guests whilst managing to take incredible pictures.

THE DRESS: It was the first dress I tried on and I loved it so I bought it there and then.

THE GROOM: Pete’s suit was from Hugo Boss, he wanted a nice fitted black suit he could wear again! His shoes were from Grenson.

THE FLOWERS: We had seen Yan Skates work at a friends wedding a few years back and remembered how amazing the flowers looked. He certainly didn’t disappoint for our day. We had cherry blossom and gypsophilia down the isle, which gave the church the wow factor. We had so many compliments about the flowers. He did a great job!

STATIONERY: Pete did everything! He dabbles in graphic design and was keen to design everything himself, from the table plan to the order of service. A handy man to have around!

FIRST DANCE: ‘Ain’t No mountain High Enough’. We didn’t want a slow song, so we chose an upbeat one that would get everyone up and dancing.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: The ceremony and service. It was such a joyful and emotional occasion. We felt so blessed to be getting married before God and in front of all our friends and family.

Such a beautiful day, don’t you just love the pics of bride Vicki revealing her plimsolls and thick woolly socks to her Mr! Who also happens to be a rather talented designer creating this amazing stationery suite! Huge congratulations to you both and a special thanks to Kristian Leven for sharing this gorgeous London wedding.
