Simple, natural, relaxed and rustic weddings always win my heart. I think its the connection with nature and the simplicity, romance and charm of sitting beneath the stars with your loved ones. I have put together an inspiring collection of beautiful and unique rustic decoration ideas for you to incorporate into your day. The British weather is sadly not always the kindest, so planning an outdoor wedding can be a little tricky at the best of times (I speak from experience!). However, many of these ideas can be perfectly implemented in a country barn, marquee or teepee venue. So here it is, how to dress your tables the rustic way…
Mismatched old wooden chairs and clusters of vintage doilies with various different candle holders dotted around help to create a more relaxed and informal atmosphere. I love the alternative natural chandelier (shown below) made from stems of trailing leaves and light bulbs.
When dressing tables, think about including lots of rustic wood, slate, recycled glass and muted linens. I love the idea of tree trunk placemats, jam jars for water and striped and checked tea towels used as place mats or napkins. Dot candles amongst simple trailing greenery and herbs, this will save you a fortune on elaborate floral displays and create lots of rustic charm!

I adore these old distressed plant pots which were planted with various herbs and used as favours at this beautiful wedding. They make stunning displays on the tables combined with the charming florals. You can pick up old plant pots such as these relatively cheaply at antique fairs. You could even make miniature versions that double up as you name place cards.
A quirky collection of old glass paraffin hurricane lamps look great grouped together and you don’t need to worry about the candles blowing out in the wind! I think they’d look rather pretty in your garden afterwards too, as would the jam jar chandelier and old rusty ladles hanging from a fence!
